Goldstone is glass that contains tiny crystals of metallic copper. In the 17th Century, the Italian Miotti family invented the process and was granted an exclusive license to produce it. They it guarded well until the 19th Century when they stopped making glass and sold the formula. Goldstone is formed by the reduction of copper oxide particles in glass through a process called annealing. Nothing formed in nature looks quite like glittering goldstone! *Please note these are sold individually. Since they are a natural product and unique they may vary in size, color, and shape.
