Jasper is a common sedimentary rock and a type of fine- grained quartz. It is an opaque stone found in earthy reds, yellows, browns, and greens caused by the presence of iron and/or other impurities. Spotted jasper is often called “bullseye” or “leopardskin”, while striped is called “zebra”.
